TV Cable

This device would not work (or at least be practical) in this application. John is looking to send an antenna signal wireless to his boat this device you are referring to is something that is used to transmit an already received signal back out to an additional TV and then it would be tuned in on a preset channel like channel 3 or 4. This setup would require having power and a cable box on the dock then using the rabbit to transmit the signal to the boat. This seems like a lot of work to avoid running a cable to the dock! Keep in mind you would have to go out side to change channels. The rabbit was popular in the late 70s early 80's when VCRs where just coming out and were expensive so most homes only had one this was a way to play the VCR thru out the house. I had a couple of them back in the day I later used these to broadcast cameras in homes it was a handy device.
 
You can pick up a cable at Home Depot or Lowes. While you're there, pick up two small, plastic "cable handcuffs." They're great for keeping cables wound without breaking the inner core. You can also use a set of large cable handcuffs to keep your shore power cables neatly wound. This season I'm replacing the 1997 TV from our Cruisers; I'll already sent the original one to recycling. I also need to replace the cable wires from the antenna to the splitter and to the dockside connection. Luckily, I have quite a bit of RG6 cable which was left by our local cable company when they replaced our house's outside cable. All our house-feed wires are underground. I bought the tool and ends to make up my own cables at Home Depot. The job is simple. Hopefully, with a new TV and new cables I'll be able to get some reception this summer. Our marina doesn't offer a TV connection so we have to use the antenna that's already on the boat. We just got the boat last year so I'm still learning how to work a few things, inclusing the TV. Found a 25' at the "other" WM for $9.97. LOOKS like the same thing as at Radio Shack. RG6 I think.
 
Coax TV cable will coil just fine if you put the right twist in it with your thumb and forefinger as you coil it. Try to coil it without the twist and you damage it each time until it eventually fails.
