I am trying to help a neighbor install digital converters for the 3 TV's in their Carver 396.

Does anyone know how to remove the TV from the built-in cabinets?

does it have a seperate wood trim frame around it?

There is finished trim around the opening but it doesn't effect access to the TV. It appears that the TV's are somehow mounted in, or to, the bottom of the cabinet to avoid falling out.

Here is a sample picture from a sistership:

In all 3 cabinets, there are screws underneath that need to be removed. Once that is done, it just a matter of pulling out the TV. Forward and aft cabins wer difficult to remove (top of TV gets caught on top of cabinet). For salon TC, you have to remove the four scres that hold the radio/VCR face plate, pull out and screws underneath tv platform are exposed.

Thanks, I completed the Salon installation yesterday and it seems like the AFT cabin will be the same process, but I can't seem to gain access to the screws in the BOW cabin. There is a DVD player mounted below the TV but it is not a faceplate which holds it as in the Salon. I will try to look closer at it this weekend.
