Hi. My small bowrider has a 360 mast light that I want to upgrade, but I've discovered that the pole and its socket is apparently an unusual type.
The bottom (socket) end of the pole ends in a half circle, with the two electrical contacts on the flat side.
All of the replacement light poles that I've seen so far have a full-circle end with the contact inside two small holes.
Questions:
1) Does anyone know the generic or industry term for the style of my pole, as opposed to the term for the alternate style that I'm seeing on all the products I've looked at. That would help me search for the right replacement product.
2) Does anyone know of a converter to use the latter poles on my own boat's socket?
My boat manufacturer went out-of-business (Sugar Sand), so I can't ask them.
Thanks.

When I upgraded my stock 360 deg light, I swapped the head ( only ). No need to change the staff...

Thank you for your reply. It's good advice, but I'm also interested, besides upgrading brightness, in raising the height to go above my new bimini, so I have to replace the pole as well.
Best regards,
Ken

The chances of a conversion device are about nil .

If you can find the light you want on a suitable length pole, could you just swap pole bases and butt-crimp splice the pole wires? If the ends of each are secured with a rivet you could drill out, that could be feasible.

Last year I rebuilt mine and I had the opposite problem. Mine was longer than any of the replacements available. So I bought a new light, a new base, new wire, and I salvaged the old aluminum pole. Why don't you do the exact opposite. That is, buy a (longer) replacement pole with the light, but salvage your base?
