Used Anchors?

I'm looking for a delta, 35lb anchor (40'-50' boat). Any boatyards, shops, etc. have something like this?

onthecreek - As I recall, you're in the Austin area? I had a well known guy dive for mine (think I had to pay him $100) in about 10' of water. Never found it in Lake Travis.

Ironically , I caught one a few years back when fishing for fluke. 35lb Delta plow anchor in beautiful condition w/ ~15' of chain and ~15 ' of chafed off braid rode. I tell people once caught a 35 lb fluke.
But sorry, I do use it from time to time. (Not Lake Travis, it was off M's Vineyard, MA)

I have found a lot of friend's AWOL anchors from about 13 lbs size up to many 100's of lbs in up to about 60' deep water by dragging a grapnel, chain and very long line very slowly in criss-cross pattern to snag the chain .

Mine is similar to this type: http://www.westmarine.com/buy/anchored-solutions--reef-anchors--P012868345 with bent rod tines to more easily slip into chain links if you are lucky. Maybe someone you know will loan one to you? They are darn handy.

At the back center of the grapnel, I also have a release line and float on an even longer line in case of hangup.
I sometimes also use a weighted U/W video cam attached to an onboard Tv monitor by a 100' cable. Patience and perserverence can usually pay off nicely .

Worth a try next time you are in the area.

I believe I have a 33 or 35lb Delta anchor that we used as a stern anchor on our old boat. Would have to ship from WI. PM me if interested.

yes, good memory. not long ago we moved a little further west down 290. that 620 corridor has gotten ridiculous.

i found a really nice anchor at a dive shop once. it was years ago, not sure if they're still there. was for a 25' boat, that size range is probably more common.

I don't blame you. 620 is indeed crazy! We're in the thick of it in Lakeway, but the gym is only .5 miles away, Randall's is just across the intersection, and several restaurants accessible without hitting 620. Oh - and the marina is about 3 miles away inside Lakeway! Yes, I do everything I can to avoid getting on 620.
