Using FaceTime to call for help???

Some people should not be on the water…. 911 dispatchers had to get the boaters location from the FaceTime call because they didn’t know their location. How about using the phone GPS and read the coordinates to 911 operator???

 
Plus points to the L.E.'s for getting it done! I'll not get into thoughts about the two on the boat because that is low hanging, no, fallen fruit.

I’d trust the position they get electronically from the device to the PSAP a LOT more than I’d trust the boater with nothing but a cell phone for a positioning device to read them to me accurately. And read them EXACTLY as they’re displayed so there’s no needless conversion errors between decimal and deg/min/tenths
