VACATION!!

The Hogan caravan has made it successfully to Wildwood. The only causality was a refrigerator door hinge.

We all called for Wireless One off Little Egg Inlet but not a peep was heard. Guess Billy was enjoying some quality time off.

Great Fireworks at Bowline. Even Better Fireworks and RedBank and Excellent fireworks at Wildwood.

Excellent travel day from Red Bank to Wildwood. It took us 6 hours to get there. Burn 200gl of fuel. I guess were keeping the economy moving.

Dinner was very good at the BoatHouse. Le's see what tomorrow brings.

Too bad we missed the caravan. My wife and I were away from the boat for a few hours this afternoon. Sure sounds like everyone is having fun. We have had 3 good nights of fireworks here.
Bill & Jan

After watching Bowline's fireworks we went to Red Bank to see their show. What a great show it was too! Definitely an event worth attending.

As we left we got a high temp alarm on the port engine. Seems we sucked in a load of jellyfish. Got that cleaned out and headed to Croton. All the way there I wasn't getting the performance I was used to so once we got in I checked the props. Turns out we sucked a rag around the prop. Cleaned it out and everything was back to normal.

Went up to Mariner's to watch the fireworks by the bridge tonight. Tied up at their dock, order take-out food, and watched the fireworks right there. Loads of fun, but not much of a show. Hopefully next year they'll have a better budget.

Two weekends and FIVE fireworks shows from the water.

Ben you really made the rounds. I'm glad to here you where able to correct any and all of your problems. Many boaters would be waiting for there yard to deal with it, not much slows you down and that's great.

My wife and I started out yesterday for a Jetski ride with no plans of where we were heading she said head North we ended up in Rondout for lunch. It was a nice ride except I got a bad sun burn on my shoulders.

If there is anything I can do to help such as pick up and ship you a replacement hinge let me know. On my last trip I had an issue with a table and I had parts shipped to two of our stops they got it right when I got to Block Island. It was nice having a package wanting for me when I got there.
I hope you all have a great time. I can't wait for my trip next month.

Where and when are your MD stops planned for?

We should be in Baltimore late Wednesday Kurt. A few days there and then on to Herrington Harbour South.

Which marina in Baltimore and what nights? Will you be there into the weekend at all?

2 Nights at Baltimore Marine center 7/7 & 7/8 and then 2 nights at Baltimore Inner Harbor Marine center 7/9 & 7/10. We'll be leaving there on Sunday for Herrington.

Damn Norcold!!! Why the hell would they use plastic as the hinge plate???? I've got to see if I can a metal replacement.

Bill, we tried hailing you as we passed, about 45 mins behind rommer, but no answer. Why don't you hop on your boat and come down here for a day or two? There is an open slip, as the 40' Regal that was supposed to come with us broke down and went back for repairs.

It's a hot one today, lounging by the pool will be the order of the day.

BTW, "Ka-boom" in Redbank was good, there was plenty of "Ka", but not enough "boom"!

I'll keep that in mind. We have no plans for next weekend and don't usually go to Baltimore in the summer, but there's always a first for everything. If we do, I'll try and look you up. My office isn't too far from downtown, so if you need something, let me know. I can give you a ride or whatnot. Although at BMC, there's a West Marine on-site should you need it.

When at BMC (that area is called "Canton"), you're in walking distance from a good number of restaurants (and there's a Safeway right across the street). Try Nacho Mama's if you like Mexican (try the margarita in the hubcap...it serves four easily). You've also got the water taxi at both places to get you around. I highly recommend Roy's Restaurant which is very close to Inner Harbor East Marina (my preferred place to stay). If you've never eaten at one before, it's worth a try. There is also the "Little Italy" section of Baltimore near there. Sabatino's is a favorite of ours. Chiapparelli's is also good (try a weeknight though as they're always packed on Friday and Saturday). And then there's Vaccaro's either in "Little Italy" or at Harbor Place for desert. Again, try a weeknight as you can't get close to the place on a weekend.

I'll PM you with my cell number so you can call if you need local info.

Wow Dave...all the way up to Kingston and back on a jetski! That's one heckuva ride. Aside from your sunburn, it was probably a lot cooler than hanging in Croton or Bowline for the day.

It was a hot one for sure. To my surprise my wife ranked the day among the top ten boating days ever. I have made the trip years ago with my son and it was fun then too but that time it was planned, this time it was just a spur of the moment thing.

I would much rather be heading south like this group sounds like a great time.

Ben, We saw you over in South Croton yesterday. Sure was a great day to be on the water. You met my son on the way out..

Very cool boat! We pulled up along side and oogled it for a bit as we headed up to Poughkeepsie. That thing must be FAST!

Got a bottle here at home for you Mike. The people who were in the Chap next to me for a few days said you helped them out & they gave me a bottle to give you as thanks.
