Mike what are you getting for NMPG? I am thinking it's close to ours at 8kt.

Calamari couldn't be better.

I burned 200 gallons to Montauk, seven hour trip.

I ripped out my carpet and replaced it with vinyl planking, I'll post some pix when I get a chance.

Mudslides are AWESOME!!!!

Mike, is that your cruising speed 25MPH ?

My last trip last week that was my cruising speed at 2390rpms and I have 420s vs Mike's 450s.

28.57 gallons per hour, pretty respectful numbers, I would assume most of the time you were at "cruise" speed. I burn anywhere from 30 to 34 gallons an hour at a cruise speed of 22 to 25 mph at 3600 rpm.

I'm thinking the numbers are about the same as us at 8kt! If I back down to 7kt we are just about 2nmpg. This Fall I am thinking we will be running slower! Several folks I know are changing their itineraries to include slower runs.

Dan it must be nice being retired and having the time to run or is it walk slow. I only get a few days at a time to take a vacation so I have to go a little faster if I'm going to get anywhere.

It's our last day in Block. Plan is breakfast at the airport, rend mopeds and tour around, lunch at the Oar, and a birthday dinner out for my lovely wife!

Tomorrow, we're off for Newport.

Weather has been excellent.

Let's see some pics of the airport diner. Haven't been there in years.

It was rebuilt a few years ago Ben. Looks very different from what you remember for sure. If Hogan doesn't get pics I'll grab a few in 2 weeks when I'm out there.

If we were still working we'd certainly be less concerned! With QE3 around the corner we can all expect fuel prices to climb again. Bernucklehead has already put that on the table.

No pix of diner, food was great, but be prepared to wait a loooonnnngggg time for it to be served.

Rented a moped and toured around the island, then to Hotel Manisses for the Admiral's birthday dinner. Food was outstanding, and they have a crazy zoo in the back, with some interesting animals, i.e., a Zedonk (combo zebra & donkey), bison, lemurs, camels, kangaroo).

Left Champlins at 10:15 AM and had a great ride over to Newport - arrived at Goat Island and secure in our slip before noon.

We are docked at Goat Island Marina in Newport. A 54' Sea Ray "Twisted Thoughts", owned by

RICHARD A SCERBO

backed down our fairway this morning and his bow blew into our bow, with quite a crash (apparently, he didn't know how to use his bow thruster). They continued out, saying "don't worry, we'll be back".

They pulled in a couple of hours later and no one even came over to ask if they caused any damage.

If it was me, I would have walked over, apologized, asked if I caused any damage, and at least offered a bottle of wine as a "sorry".

What an inconsiderate bastard!

As upsetting as it is don't let it ruin you vacation no one got hurt and the boat is OK. Enjoy the rest of your time and post some pictures.

Oh come on Mike, More Drama, you should have stayed at PBM then for a relaxing weekend and vacation with friends who would have checked your boat and helped drink that bottle of wine! :D

Enjoy the rest of the week, gonna be a hot one. You picked the right time to go.

could it have been a kid driving and afraid to tell the old man?

IMO a letter is certainly in order.
