I've got a pair of Velvet Drives mated to 7.4 Crudaders that I changed the transmission fluid on this weekend. The owner's manual states that they have a capacity of 3 qts, but I was only able to put in 1 1/2 qts after sucking them dry through the filler tube.
After filling, I ran both engines till the fluid was warm (did not take boat out), shut them down & within about 10 seconds checked the fluid level, which was at the full mark. After the drain down from the heat exchanger, the fluid levels were way above full.
Is this normal?
