I would like to find a set of replacement venturi windshields for my 1987 Voyager 28. Does anyone know if Carver might still be able to supply them or is there an aftermarket vendor for them?

Carver will not have the patterns for these any longer. We have used local plexiglass companies to remake them for us. The compound curved sections will be the nard ones to copy as the other 3 panels are flat plexiglass

Yep, and as Murphy's Law would prescribe, guess which ones are cracked. :)

Thanks for the info.

Jimbo,

I had one replaced by a friend who owns an auto glass company. He used the old one as a mold for the new one, need the right skills to do it.

there is a guy in west palm south of Okeechobee the first road west of 95 that does plastic fabrication for boats. I cant remember the name but when i drive by the work seems pretty amazing

My dock neighbors had an 86 mariner like mine and they had broken their venturi and took it to be repaired/replaced at the beginning of the season. By the time I pulled my boat, it was still not back and they were very frustrated. Hope mine never breaks!

You may want to keep an eye on ebay. I saw quite a few 2827/2897's this winter sell on there for less than $5000 that were obvious junk boats. If you see one, ask the seller if they would trade for a broken one and some cash. That way they have the parts and you have an unbroken one. There is one floating around from Katrina that sold on there for peanuts.

Hope that helps!

I had the same problem on a smaller scale. I need a corner section for my 3807 flybridge windshield, and neither Carver nor Taylor Industries, the manufacturer, has it or the pattern. Taylor referred me to Ocean Dynamics, in Miami, Fl. (518-773-9226). Ocean Dynamics will custom make my part for $357. I guess it could be worse, but I don't know what a full windshield might be. Of course, if you are not needing an exact replacement, there are any number of windshield fabricators that might make a less expensive generic replacement.
