Very Low Water Levels in the river

The water is soooo low that I'm thinking of an archelogical dig in my slip. I figure I should find enough
treasure to buy Maureen, Joyce and I drinks at the get together.
Ray

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were an imbiber. I thought you were the designated boat driver.

Now Ray...Your getting mixed up here..you must have been listening with an American Accent...I am the DD...the designated drinker, not driver...you must have been Listening to Moe when she said I drove her crazy..They were 2 totally different conversations..(g)

Good news for Clayton last week. They are building new docks and facilities with 50 transient slips.
Hope to be ready for the 2011 season. Beautiful spot right off the Main Channel (the Northeast corner of the Village).

How are the Tulips up your way? Joyce wants to head up to Ottawa this week for the festival.

The tulips are in full flower now...Do you attend the Tulip Festival every year?. or is this going to be the first?..

This would be our first trip to see the Tulips. Any tips for viewing the lips?

I put the boat in the river yesterday. There was plenty of water especially in my bilge.

I'm in Ottawa now and I don't see no stinkin' tulips!

"Any tips for viewing the lips?"..that's a loaded question, especially if the weather is warm...I have never been myself..you cant smoke them so I have no interest in them..(g)...I did find this website on the festival..

Thanks for the info.
Rick they are supposedley along the canal from Dow's lake to the Parliament area above the 7 locks.

The people of the Netherlands sent them to Canada in appreciation for the sacrifices the Canadian soldiers endured during WW II. There is supposed to be over 1 million of them.

You lost me here Rick..You posted the same link I did??..Are you saying that there are no tulips this year?..
From the Link..

Along the traditional Tulip Route
More than one million tulips bloom from Commissioners Park at Dow’s Lake along Queen Elizabeth Drive to Parliament Hill and across the Ottawa River in Mackenzie King Estates in Gatineau Park, Quebec. This has been a part of our Canadian heritage and bond with the Netherlands originating in the gift of tulips to the people of Canada by the Dutch Royal Family following the liberation of Europe in the Second World War. A shuttle service operates from the main tulip beds in Commissioners Park to the tulip beds and festive activities in Major's Hill Park.

The festival actually begins May 7 so maybe they are just about to bloom.
Joyce and I have decided to wait till next week to go to Ottawa.
Now Wayne, If you would like to run up to ottawa and send blooming reports Joyce and I would be grateful.
This could earn you a beverage at the get together in July. (Key word COULD).

Ray:
I go to Ottawa everyday to work..I could check the Lips out for you..(Key word COULD)

Do you accept beverage IOU's?

I most certainly do accept and love beverage IOU's...

In The Mouth
Over the tongue
Under the tonsils

From the Garden Of Moe..(Maureen), not to be confused with the garden of Eden..

Now that I've seen Moe's Tulips I told Joyce we don't need to go to Ottawa.
Orange is my favorite color. Do you think I'm in trouble?

If we aren't in trouble with our Admirals...then we are doing something wrong...

Tulip report:
Moe is going to Ottawa tomorrow and is taking the old bird (mother-in-law) to see the tulips...stay tuned for details...

Ray:
If you are going to be in the Area next weekend, stop by the Marina for a visit...I will give you directions if your going to stop in...
