My son gets married in a few weeks so we decided to do something together before the big event - for the first time ever we chartered a 25 foot boat with Captain (he came recommended)for a full day of fishing. Renting a boat was about $40450 plus gas a day and the charter came with a skipper and all the "stuff" needed to fish and local knowledge for about $550....gas included.

Though the weather was fantastic and the guy seemed to know his stuff - we fished for 8 hours and caught NOTHING in the "fishing capital of the world". We had three balihoo bitten in half and that was it....wow what a bummer.

Still great quality time with my son but I've got to tell you I was a bit dissappointed we didnt hook anything to brag about. $600 buys a lot of sushi ;-)

O,

"Bummer" is an understatement, fishing should be good this time of year.
As soon as I can get over the Birthdays,Holidays,Aniverseries and Weddings, We will get out there and make up for the Fishless trip.
Glad you had the time with your son, Hope my son and yours will join us.

and perhaps my Dad? - apparently he has never caught a salt water fish either (so he notified me this week) ;-)
