I purchased the boat about a year ago, a 1982 Carver 3007 and ships log says the Lectrasan was purchased and installed in 1996. It was sent back to Raritan for rework in 2000, or 2001. The unit seems to be working properly, no red light, green process light shows, however the macerator sounds like the bearings are worn. I am sure the electrode is nearing the end of its service life too,(I cleaned the unit with muratic solution as instructed by Raritan once) so I was thinking about ordering the treatment unit Raritan item No. 32-4000.
Do I simply install the 32-4000 and install my existing control assembly, plumb with new hoses and I am good to go?
I assume the 32-4000 is complete and sealed, just needs the controls.
Your comments and advise are welcome. The boat is in saltwater.

If it were I, I'd pull the treatment unit out and send it in to our Ft. Lauderdale plant and have them go over the whole thing. You can replace the electrodes (if necessary) and get the motor shaft seals and bushings replaced for about half the cost of buying a whole new treatment box. this time of year it can be done fairly quickly, but if you wait a month, they'll be overloaded with incoming repair work, and it'll take a good deal longer.
