Vineyard Haven public moorings?

I'm heading to Nantucket Friday with a planned stop at Vineyard Haven for a few hours, let the tide turn, have breakfast and walk around. Its been a very long time since I've been there.

Are there public moorings I can get on for 3-5 hours? Water taxi to shore? Or is there a dinghy dock? Cost?

Yes, yes and yes. I am not sure what they might charge for a few hours; we paid about 50 bucks for an overnight. Harbor master is (508) 696.4249. You can also anchor out on the other side of the ferry main channel from the moorings in the outer harbor.
