Vinyl Cleaner Ideas?

A few years ago, I had several pieces of cockpit upholstery redone. I was concerned that the old, but still in good shape pieces would look dingy next to the next stuff as there were a few stains and embedded mildew in the cracks. The upholstery guy said he would be able to clean it easily.

Sure enough, it worked great. I cannot locate this guy and can't remember what he used. I think it was more like a commercial solvent and nothing marketed to regular consumers.

I've tried all the other regular products, but want something stronger. Anyone have an idea of what this could have been?

Note - It was not an acid type product.

I use Super Clean. You get it in the auto part stores. It's a grease remover. I also wash the none skid with it but it will remove wax so you have to be careful.
 
If you find something that works well please report back.
My back combing pad is sun beat and dirt just seems to get into it and not come out.
It's like the vinyl has no durability to it and not sure cleaning it will help but curious to try before I replace it.
 
You can paint that sun pad. I recently used a vinyl spray on some full time in the sun seat cushions and it came out great.
About 14 bucks a can but well worth it.

Maguires Heavy Duty Vinyl and Rubber cleaner. Amazing stuff. Keeps my 20 y/o white vinyl looking new.

another RO used the paint.....wow it looks good after 2 years
