One of the most popular party fishing boats in SF. The female skipper was inducted into California Outdoors Hall of Fame. 84 yrs old. I think she is still an active skipper (not totally sure of that)

There was an older skipper in the Westport WA Salmon Charter fishery.
One time I went out with him, his swamper was an old drunk.
Next time it was a young guy.
Last two times it was a girl.
He said the Girls are treated better by the Customers. The Customers will do more of their own work, and the tips were better.
Guys are just Better Gentlmen around young girls.

She took over as skipper after her husband died. I believe she still owns the vessel, but hires a skipper to run her. She was very famous back in the 70s when women owning and operating boas was unheard of!

Ah beg to differ. There were two women skippers of salmon party boats out of North Bend back in the 70's. I rode with both. One was great, the other fair, both smoked like chimneys.
