Walter V drive

I have a 70 Trojan houseboat I am repowering. Going back to original setup. Chrysler 318's, one is counter rotating, there are velvet trans behind them and remote Walter V drives. Guy I got boat from said marina had went thru V drives while trying to diagnose eng. problems. Owner passed away and wife waited awhile before giving boat up to marina. There are new hoses and oil looks clean. I noticed some oil seeping from bottom side of starboard V drive. and wanted to get it fixed before adding eng. and relaunching. I noticed input shafts are loose on both drives, mostly up and down, seals look wollowed-out, but are dry(probably not run for very long time). I could get exact numbers off them, but as posted, these are extremely heavy, about 100-125lbs. 1st real questions is: Is this normal and something to do with input alignment? 2nd question is: Starboard V drive has a collar and bolt on top that says "rotate to align" the Port side has nothing but a threaded empty hole. Is the collar and bolt missing?

I'll check mine in an hour or so and report back. I'm inclined to say my Walter V drives have little to no play on either the transmission side or the output shaft side. As far as the seals they are easy to replace but they have nothing to do with play. This is our last day on Wireless One we met the new owners yesterday and gave them the 2 hour technical tour.
The boat's going to a great couple and staying at my marina (with a name change).
