Does anyone know of someone selling 1 or 2 used kayaks? Prefer the plastic sit on top type since they are light.

I've also been watching Craigslist .....for a sit on top Kayak......as a second one.

They are hard to find !..........

Great, now I have competition on Long Island for a friggin kayak!

Don - On a more serious note, I do not know anything about kayak's except a friend at our marina said to get the cheap plastic sit on top ones for the boat, because they are light to lift up onto the bow and are fairly easy to get on and off and they can't sink. He also said to pay more attention to the quality and lightness of the paddles. Any recommendations, since it looks like I am going to have to buy new. Plan to be in West Hampton soon and figured it would be fun to use them there. Yes them, since I plan to buy 2. Thanks, Jeff

True......the sit on top are just about unsinkable.......the one I have ( see my avatar ) is a sit inside....and once it starts to take on water.....unless you have a hand pump.......you sink. I would like one of each.......

I have a tandem one. If anyone wants to borrow it let me know. I don't use it and would sell it but I know someday I might use it.
Actually I will probably bring it to aquapalooza.

I looked into getting into Kayaking over the winter and decided against it.

There are many many types of KAYAKS with pluses and minuses. I went to a club meeting or two and checked out dozens of them.

If you want a small one that's easy to lift, but still pretty stable for an average sized adult, the Spitfire from Emotion Kayaks is a good choice. I'm waiting for a delivery truck to bring me my second one today, as I got tired of cartopping the first one to my vacation place and left it there last summer.

It's about 8 ft long, so it yaws a bit more than the full size ones, but it's actually better for poking into the cuts in the islands since it needs less room to turn.

$250 from Cabela's, no tax, free delivery. At that price, you are not likely to find something used that's any cheaper.

I see my tandem one for $400.
It's a good kayak.
Again, if you want to borrow it, just ask.
I don't use it but don't want to sell it.
I use it once a season, I am happy!

Ron, can the Spitfire accommodate a 6'3" guy? My biggest problem (well, one of them) is if the kayak is too small, my knees get in the way of my stroke. Let me put that another way....
