I was reviewing The friends of watchill website and look they have a reservation only weekend for fathers day..... WTF >>> where all are the aholes that complained about ss3's spring party before the marina was even open .. . When are they going to write there congressmen how there being ignored....

This is the picture that did not make SEA RAY living or the Surfside 3 Mag.... it was 10/11/03.

Rob, I was looking at that too and I agree. A mid-June weekend shouldn't be members only reservations. Does that mean though that if you sign up for FOWH you can reserve for that weekend? Or you need to know someone? I was thinking of going that weekend originally...

Everyone may be reading too much into this. My understanding is that if you are a member in 2008, you can get a reservation in advance instead of the day of your arrival. This is not a closed marina private event. That week of the year is still on the edge of not real busy.
I have been joining every year for the Platinum membership $100, but you can join for $25 also. I have no time to participate in any of their functions. It’s more of a donation and tax deductible.
I plan on taking advantage of this advance reservation thing. Hell for one time a year not to speed dial 200 times it’s worth the $25.
A funny thing happen last year, I was using the redial on my phone in my office. And a few staff members outside my office must have been listening for about an hour of dialing and beep, beep , redial beep beep, redial… you get the picture. When I got though and got a slip I gave a big yaaa ha-ray. And I walk out into the open area and a few people came running over to ask what I won from a radio station… I look puzzled and said I won nothing, now they look puzzled… I said oh I got a reservation to one of my favorite marinas. They did not get it…… But I know you all do !!!!

I'm still shooting to come around to WH for Memorial Day weekend. If I call on Thursday, should I be able to get in that day?

No one is reading to much into it. Advanced reservations breaks the rules. Period. Fowh members should be treated just like everyone else. It was not created to make entitlement. I am a member and with crap like this i think im going to rethink next year. I joined to help a place that was neglected as I grew up going there and saw how the parks dept has done nothing. So i thought I was giving back. No i think i maybe adding to slush fund . Which u know what I dont care about . There should be no special favors for FOWH members. plain and simple.

Rob, Ok ok.…. I get your point. I thought that your statements were about it being a private weekend and others could not go.
I am sort of at 6’s and 9’s with the concept. FOWH do give a lot; just take a look around. Is it that out of line that the FI Concession (who makes the rules) gives us “we” as members who give lots $$ to help the place, one day of an advance reservations?
Again, I do get your point, but need to play a bit of the devils advocate on this.
Mark,. I don’t think you will have a problem on Thursday, but call me before you come. I will be over at Atlantique, closer to the inlet. As I mentioned in my previous posts, they do not check for resident stickers that early.
