Watch Hill Columbus Day Weekend

DEAL FELL THROUGH , just got the call a few minutes ago. The buyer of my buyers boat backed out :( Guess I will be at Watch Hill :)

After Columbus Day watch hill will be closed for the season . I'm hearing good things for the next season .

Well that does sound encouraging, wonder how many slips if any will be lost?
 
They are saying only one slip will be lost . I have the current slip sizes at the office

Nothing official yet, but be aware that Watch Hill is a National Park and will be part of the shutdown. Spoke to Pam from FOWH briefly and they are concerned and watching closely to see what this entails.

I was thinking unless they physically are throwing people out of marina, electric or no electric, I would still go.
 
We just revised our travel plans....we where going stay at some State parks on the way home.......not taking the chance .

This Government sucks.........

I would not put it passed them to tie off the marina. They want to make a point with the closures.

We are the pawns of our elected officials. Im kinda hoping this piss's off enough people that EVERYONE gets voted out . Establish term limits and that would be real change ..

As you are no doubt aware, Congress was unable to reach a budget agreement last night causing a partial government shutdown. As a result of the shutdown, National Parks are now closed. This closure includes Watch Hill. Like you, FOWH doesn't know the duration of the shutdown.

Our members are looking forward to Columbus Weekend events planned for October 11, 12 and 13. Actually hosting these events depends on Watch Hill re-opening. FOWH board members are keeping a close watch on this situation as it unfolds and are in touch with one another to discuss all options for Columbus Weekend.

At this point, FOWH's plan is for our events to remain in place especially as the government shutdown may be resolved in less than a week. FOWH will provide you with timely information regarding our Columbus Weekend status. Please stay tuned for future email updates from us.

I applaud those locking this down, abortion care (OBAMCARE) is going to cost me more than my boat or home!!!
