Anyone going this weekend?
There are fireworks off of bellport and hecksher on Saturday. Guess sailors haven is a better place to go for them.

Dave,

I might be on Saturday just for the day.

Stop by the Unbroken Chain for a cold one. We're heading over Friday afternoon. Just gotta get through a couple of hours here at the shop.....

Rob,
Go on Thursday, leave your boat and take the ferry home.

Rob what time did you call for a reservation. I could not get through until 10:15 and then it was too late; they would not take the reservation.
The guy told me that the marina was 1/3 full (maybe 60 boats). BEAT
Went to Sailors instead. Remind me to thank the staff of WH, I thought it was cleaner, less noisy and brought in a nice crowd. Btw. didn't even fill up till Saturday, lunch time.

Hey Rob, you don't have to leave your boat alone. I'll take it over on any thursday and keep the AC running and the beer cold till you show up. I think if the admiral sees how well I handle a 44 footer, she might let me upgrade. :)

LOL.. u got a deal....

I saw ur buddy Chris ( hyper fishing ) over the weekend ...

He was in the river in a huge raft up....

What's the water depth like getting into Sailor's Haven these days? I may anchor up outside there sometime this weekend and take the dinghy in, haven't been there in 4 years.

Sucks.. the ferry even goes out of the channel to the west... They were supposed to reset the buoys. I dont know if they did But the depth is the same... Its deeper as u get further from the marina entrance .

Water depth is not terrible, I have made a couple runs in and out at dead low tide and would see 4 to 4.5 ft the whole way in. Also it is pretty shallow if you decide to anchor off of SH. People drop the hook and wade in all the time

Harris,

I used to go to Sailor's Haven a lot with my previous boat. I could never get a slip, so I'd drop people off then anchor out on the west side far enough out that the water was at least 5-6'. That boat had a 3' draft though, my new boat is around 4.5' so I've been hesitant to go there. Sometime this season I'll try it though, I have a dinghy now so if I need to anchor far off it's not a problem.
