Water damaged teak question

The rear hatch of my recently acquired Bluewater had leaked for some time. The teak panel on the door has discoloration due to water damage. Is this something that I can sand down and start with teak cleaning chemicals and re-oil/stain and brink back, or will it never match? I pulled apart the door and window and resealed everthing tight.
