what is best waterproofing for canvas I tried star brite not good enough

I've used both 303 brand and Star-Brite brand. I did not notice a difference in performance between the two products, and Star-Brite was much cheaper. Not a scientific result ... just my own observation. Star-Brite is something like $45/gallon (303 is closer to $80-100/gallon). I pour the Star-Brite into a 2-gallon garden sprayer for application. It's much easier and quicker application than those little hand pump bottles. It's easiest to do this with the canvas laid out on your lawn.

I used 303 for years and 3 years ago I switched to Escort brand. Much Much cheaper and does the same job..
Its made by Woods.

The 303 spray bottle is terrible !
It is a shame that they have not changed the design or the material. Your hand and arm are literally soaking wet after :30 seconds of spraying

Ask of the Sunbrella company. They've been there. I went around and around with Sunsetter abut my $4000 awning which leaked to the point it was useless in the rain. Sunbrella had the answer. Sunsetter spends more on advertising than on customer support in my opinion.

sunbrella makes a water proof version of most of their fabrics. it has a vinyl layer on one side and is really made for Bimini tops. it will not leak except at the stitched joints where they stretch over time. I use a tent seam sealer for the seams. its applied to the underside and works very well.

I have tried both, but now use Starbrite. I usually end up re-applying every year anyway, so why pay the higher price

Where do you find Escort? I googled it but no luck.

Ya, I just did the same. looks like it is sold by Canadian Tire in Canada only...Sorry about that..

West Marine sells a water proofer endorsed by Sunbrella. It is for acrylic fabrics that don't have a vinyl coating. I have used it on non-Sunbrella, relatively loosely woven acrylic with excellent results.
