Hi everyone,

I've seen many very positive posts regarding Dean & his company and see them listed in the sticky. I've been trying to get them to detail my boat for several weeks now. I had gotten a couple of "maybe this day or that day" calls, then finally was told last Saturday would be the day.

They never showed. I didn't get a call. I tried calling them Sunday, Monday & again today to see what's going on, but have not gotten a return call.

I know they can be very busy, but based on the positive feedback i've seen on this board and others i expected better than what i've gotten.

Any suggestions? Anyone else currently working with them?

Thanks,
dan

This is my experience with them.

They can make a piece of $h_t look like gold and a nice boat look even better.

However, they are in high demand and have contracts with boat dealers. Getting them to your boat is a frustrating and sometimes impossible task since they don't say no to anyone and a tie goes to the dealer.

My yard will probably put my boat into a shed to finish the bottom and to get W & W to come on a rainy day when they can't work outside somewhere else.

dan,
Patience my brother.... breathe..... they are well worth the wait ... I wouldnt lie or misrepresent the truth. Mark nailed it ... They are in high demand ... as they should be ... Im sure someone from there will contact you... they are truly great people

Dan,
Also keep in mind the weather, with the rain we have been having they are more than likely backed up. They are worth the wait and the money. Just don't get why they can't call and keep you up to steam, business 101.. :)

Hi folks,

Thanks for the feedback. And because they are so well respected by the folks on this forum I really am looking forward to having them do the work. All i ask is that they communicate with me. I know i'm in a different marina then they usually deal with (worlds fair), but maybe that means they can get more business (not that they need it) out of coming there. I had made plans to take some folks out on the boat this weekend (based on them telling me I would have been taken care of last weekend) and now it looks like im stuck.

I did get a call yesterday afternoon from a young lady from Waves & Wheels who apologized and explained that weather has been a problem. She promised me Dean would call me yesterday with a game plan. Unfortunately i never heard from him.

As Rob said, patience. I'll take deep breaths. But as Walter said, business 101......communicate with your costumer can go a long way.

Oh well, i'll keep you posted.

Thanks guys!

Hi everyone,

I just got a call from Dean at Waves & Wheels. He apologized for the delay & explained that between the weather and some of the marinas that he has contracts with he has just gotten his schedule crushed lately.

He has guaranteed me they will be there first thing Monday morning.....weather permitting!

Thanks,
dan

Well, Dean had 2 men at my boat for a good portion of the day yesterday. I went by last night & I can say without hesitation that my boat looks FANTASTIC! You guys were 100% correct, they do an amazing job! The boat is spotless....and believe me it was pretty dirty from a long cold winter! Top side, the carpets, the head, the fridge.....everything clean as clean can be!

Thank you all for talking me off the ledge!!!!

Thanks,
dan

Dan,
Im pretty anal... Not by choice.... They never miss a thing.... unsnap ur glass at the winshield .... no salt... they hit everywhere not just the spots u see.....

I have a hard top ... I saw a guy up there BUFFING my radar like it was a pair of shoes.....

Ur in great hands.....

Rob

Dan..........Do you get alot of " soot " on the boat.... for the jets out of La Guardia airport ???

I remember.........when I lived in Flushing....... I always had soot on the cars.........in the pool water.......always a pita.........

Actually Don, I think i might get more soot from the freaking cars on the Grand Central Parkway then the jets! The only reason i think that is because i live on a reasonably main thoroughfare in Queens and my pool and yard furniture get destroyed by soot from the freaking constant flow of cars that stream down my block!

Yet, friends 2 blocks in, no issues at all!

Yeah Rob, these guys didnt miss a thing! i couldnt believe it when i saw it. Looked like a totally different boat!

I would be more worried about the boat getting hit by falling blue ice!
