looking to remove wax residue from last season and start process over. I usually use dish soap on the hard but there isn't any water at the marina yet. anything I can towel on and off with limited water? I can fill my 5 gallon buckets but that is 3 buckets 1/2mile away. Could make for a long day!

Ammonia or Simple Green will cut the wax. Both, however, need to be rinsed well. Only thing I can think of that doesn't need rinsing is polishing compound.

Dawn dishwashing liquid. Its the cheapest, easiest and most effective. Even the folks at Zaino recommend using Dawn to strip wax.

are you trying to remove "wax" that was on there from last year, or the actual residue of the wax being baked on?

removing anything that might be on there from last season. boat is dusty and in same shape as when put away last fall.

i just re-read the original post....
if you are going to redo it, and i assume polish then wax, there really is no need as the polish will remove it. of course, if the boat is dirty and needs a wash, then go ahead.
