We boat owners really Bend Over And Takeit!!!

But the white one is "marine grade".

Bulb blew out on my spot. Cheapest I could find on boating sights was $89.00. Googled the part number and bought it for eight bucks on a trucking site.

Pascal, the one you linked to is for mounting HORSES, not BOATS!

You see, the one you posted is not Coast Guard approved for ignition protection. It has no pollution placard and does not have the word "marine" on it anywhere.

Big difference in width and height.
They have a two stepper that I like.
I have the 3 step one and it is too large to take with me.
I want one that is small to take so when I get to a marina with a large tide swing, I don't have to jump down.

I hear ya Pascal.....looking for Xenon bulbs for my underwater lights, $158 each from the Mfg, found on line for 9.95 each..working perfect for now. Amazon..
Ballast for same lights was $170 from Mfg.....bought 2 online for $29.00, exactly same part.Same wiring harness connectors......everything plugged and played

All of you boat owners are rich guys. That is why you get charged so much. That way the rest of us can get discounts.

Some days, actually most days, I envy you for having gotten rid of your boat.

Hope you are in good health.

Nope... Height between the horse and marine version are the same... The marine version is a little wider but a 3" doesnt explain the price difference

The shipping weight is 70 pounds. They must be solid, or filled with sand.

Holy Vaseline, Batman !

Boaters getting hosed again !

But wait, there's MORE !

It's ignition protected and marine grade ! ! !

I am over WM, and miss BOATFIX !

Merry Christmas Joe.

Well, there are also those days that I miss a boat. However, those moments of insanity do not last long.

I've been trying to edmucate the RO's for some years about but quit cuz most of y'll don't really know the facts involving 'spark protected components' and marine grade parts. About the only marine grade part different from automotive is the circulating pump for the engine. The impeller is SS instead of steel and the vanes are straight which makes them bi-directional.

There's NO difference between marine and auto starters, other than cost and going thru the qualifying process.

The same with solenoids. both marine and auto solenoids are sealed.

As for alternators, they're the same except for a SS screen which actually does allow flame to pass.

Put the words Aviation, Marine, or Agricultural, in front of almost anything and you can be certain that the price will automatically inflate! Thankfully I never got into flying or I'd have representatives in all three and be totally screwed.

Three F's, rent it's cheaper, I have not for all three. LOL!
