Thought i'd share some pictures with you all....

It has been a couple of stressful weeks so i took off a bit early on Friday. We loaded up the kids and went out on the boat. It had been a week or more since we spent the night out on the boat so we were looking forward to getting away!!

I didn't really take any pictures Friday night, but we dropped anchor in one of our favorite out of the way coves. It is small but deep and never had anyone else anchor out there at night. We cooked a peaceful dinner of hamburgers on the grill and enjoyed the sunset. Happily the kids went to be quickly and easily.

I floated out on the innertube with one of the kids to take this picture though:

Here is the sunrise i awoke to Saturday morning:

Here is the sun just coming over the ridge across the lake. The camper canvas was covered in dew!

We hung out for an hour or more to let things dry off and just enjoy the morning. It was pretty calm:

Behold, the kiddeos awaken and scramble out as we get their lifejackets ready:

We didn't have any breakfast provisions, so we opted to motor on down to Redtop Mountain State Park. This is a great state park with hiking trails, some historic cabins, camping area, and a lodge with a GREAT breakfast bufffet.

The dock was obviously only made for skiboats though (note the new name of the boat i had installed on the stern a few weeks ago!):

Once docked, the kiddeos are running off to eat at the lodge that you can see in the distance:

My littlest is doing her best to read the menu:

After breakfast it is time to go for a walk on the hiking trails and check out some of the old cabins:

Ever try and get two little kids to sit still for a good picture??? This is the best i was able to get after about 10 shots!

The kids wanted to explore the water and throw rocks so we hopped off the trail and went down to the lake:

As we headed back to the boat they saw two geese in the field behind the lodge. These geese were making all kids of racket and honking almost nonstop. THe kids thought that was pretty cool. They spent about 20 minutes walking around the field "chasing" the geese. Chasing isn't the right word though, the just kind of walked behind the geese trying to walk like they walked.

After a full day or running around playing, my oldest fell asleep while i was cooking dinner on the grill. Nothing like being so tired you literally fall asleep in the middle of playing "cars and trucks"

We wanted to spend last night out but forecast was for rain and storms after midnight, so we came home. Good thing we did...rained a good bit of the night and into the noon hour.

I took this photo as we were motoring back to the marina last night...thought it looked kind of neat:

Having a cruiser is SO much fun. We were only out on the water for about 30 hours but i felt like we were away for a week. All the stress of work was washed away as we motored around, cooked on the grill, swam in the water with the kids, watched the sunrise, etc. etc. Very relaxing!!!!
Wife and I are already talking about moving up to a 38-40' flybridge style boat!!! :)
