Way to quiet here.... Anyone heading out this weekend ? Im hoping for watch Hill Thursday

We are suppose to go to Watch Hill Friday morning with a bunch of boats but we just found out Hemstock in Hemlock Cove is this Saturday. So now there is talk of doing that.
I am leaning towards Watch Hill though still but will see what is decided.
 
I should be there Sat & Sun, although im a little smaller so ill be over on B Dock.
 
Going the Channel Club in New Jersey.
I have been wanting to get there for years.
Looks like a good weekend weather

Let me know how long it takes to get there and any tricks to get there. We are considering going there Labor Day weekend.
 
We just spent a wonderful weekend at the Channel Club. You will not be disappointed. The marina is first class from the new wooden docks to the "patio" sitting areas. Dave, the dockmaster, could not be nicer. They have a cart which they use to drive you to the beach (or town) and will pick you up when you are ready to come back. There is a nice pool and a great Tiki Bar which has music on the weekends. The restaurant is not yet finished (they are hoping for September) but a five minute cab ride will take you to the boardwalk in Long Branch (Pier Village) which has some excellent restaurants. Once you go around Sandy Hook, most of the ride in is no wake but enjoy the scenery and the homes along the river. There are 2 bridges. The first has a 61 ft. clearance at high tide. The second opens upon request during the week and on the hour and half-hour on weekends. Have a great time.
 
I think we have a new spot to try !!!

If anyone wants to join us labor day, we have a few boats, thinking of going Friday to Monday labor day.
Will plan it out this weekend at Watch Hill.
 
Joe how much per foot did the Channel Club charge. We were there last year and they had really upped the fees but the place was a lot nicer than pre-Sandy. Dave is one of the best Dock-Masters around and has been there for years.
 
Monday thru Thursday is $4.50 per foot. Weekends are $5.00 per foot. Both include electricity.
By the way, diesel fuel was 3.60 per gallon.
 
We have been thinking about the Channel Club as a possibility for a weekend (not Labor Day). I doubt we will go to Watch Hill until I modify my outriggers and install South Bay sea strainers on the boat.

Prob fishing this weekend.
 
At a savings of a $1.00 a gallon on fuel, the trip there may pay for itself!!!
 
IDK what im doing labor day .... Where did the summer go ....

Mark.... the jet boat has been sucking up eel grass like a fing lawn mower east of the Wantagh... Never really paid attention to it until now ... easy clean out but gets annoying ...

The discounted fuel helps cut the pain of $5.00 per foot but they really raised the fee last year. I guess someone needs to pay for those great new floating docks they installed...

$5 a foot seems to be the going rate for resort type marinas.
If that include electric which some marina's charge as much as $35 a day for, then for a 35 foot boat that is like a $1 a foot, so it's really closer to $4 a foot which is not bad.

Throw in that fuel price and it sounds like a steal!

Haverstraw is a resort type marina, and based upon season the dockage is between $2.25 and $3.00 per foot. Many of the NJ marinas were also in this range in prior years. The $5.00 per foot rate is very standard however for the LI Sound area. The further up North on the Hudson you go the rate drops to the $2.00 range....
