Guys,
If ur still in the water, before the weekend make sure the boats tide nice. Winds supposed to be howling both Saturday and Sunday.

Rob

Yes indeed.

And this is why getting to use the boat is a crap shoot at this time of the year.

I wouldn't change it .... Still some great days coming ...

Put an extra stern line on with the wind forecast to be out of the north. Shouldn't really have any issues where I am, although 40 knot winds from the north could lead to some very low tides and the boat touching bottom which I hate but nothing I can do about that.

Made it out on the bay Sunday and Wednesday, 2 nice late season days to get out! Hauling out 11/22, maybe get a couple more days in before then.

John

You don't usually see 4' mentioned for the bays -

SOUTH SHORE BAYS FROM JONES INLET THROUGH SHINNECOCK BAY-
1040 PM EDT SAT NOV 1 2014

SUN
NW WINDS 25 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 KT. WAVES 2 TO 4 FT.

SUN NIGHT
NW WINDS 20 TO 25 KT. GUSTS UP TO 40 KT EARLY...THEN
SUBSIDING TO 30 KT LATE. WAVES 2 TO 4 FT.

The tides are extremely high for a wind out of the north. Check your boats.

Went down to check my boat today. All aok.

I was the only person in the yard. As is my routine, I walked the dock to see if all was ok. Tightened some lines and put a boarding mat inside someone's cockpit as it was near going in the water. Amazes me sometimes that wind is blowing a gale and people don't check their boats.
