Who's ready for this weekend's festivities??

I will be as soon as I finish work today:(

I'm hoping to finish early and head to the boat I need to restock it I haven't been there since returning from my trip.
I think I may have more room on board now so I can't wait to go check it out.

Be there as soon as the tide comes up.

I'm surprised you can afford to come out, what with the price of keeping your boat at HM, and all...

I may have to come join you in PBM next year if my boat gets any bigger!

Not at all but the marina seems to think mine is growing and looking to charge me accordingly. I can't afford for it to keep growing I wish it would stop already!

Last I looked all of our Trojans are the same size. How can I qualify for a special rate?

Change marinas...

Seriously, have you 3 compared rates? You should all be paying the same.

Some resorts like to get out a tape measure and do actual LOA measurements. (I've seen them do it!)

From what I've seen posted here your resort is well worth the money!

You are right John, however the kids that are doing the measuring can't read a tape.

Yes Wayne I did. It never occured to me it would cost an additional $908 per year, if it did I would have had to think twice about my choice.

I love having the platform but between the cost of the platform and the additional cost of docking in a few years I will have spent more for the platform then I did on my last boat.

I had an anchor roller on my 17' boat when I bought it. I removed it cause my place measures to the inch and it would cost me another $65/yr!

Last weekend's Bowline BBQ raft-up:

Dave,

My next boat will not have a platform for that reason, I don't want to pay for a platform, just to stand on, if I have to pay for length it should be inside the boat where extra space is needed.
Than its worth it.

But that's just me...

Or, you could just go to a marina where they don't nickel and dime you to death - where they don't charge you for your bow sprit or swim platform....

Putting the Trojan issue aside for a moment. The charges at Haverstraw are very clearly spelled out on their price sheet and on-line. They charge LOA of boat or length of finger whichever is larger. I think this is much fairer then charging on what a boat says on the side. We just went through that discussion last week. Marinas who do that are doing a disservice to their customers. I also agree with them measuring boats rather then taking customers words on how long their boat is. I can't imaging being any fairer then how they do it.
