Received an email about a clearance sale, if I am reading the email properly it looks like this store is closing down 11-10-13. :(

Yeah, Walter. They've been towards this for a while. I can't believe that the Lindenhurst area can't sustain a marine supplies store.

They are expanding the West Islip location and consolidating both stores. It's a shame, though, it's so damn far from the boat...

Gerry ther are still a few people working at Freeport marine who worked at Shane's. Very knowledgable.

I was at the lindenhust store today. Not much left in the clearance area. The rest I believe will be brought to West Islip. Freeport marine is good. I have had good luck with Fred chall in freeport they moved across the street from where they were. These guys have gone above and beyond the norm trying to find me a part I needed right away. Just so far away

I had been at the Babylon store two weeks ago. Other than clothing, there really wasn't much in the clearance section. I usually shop in the Patchogue store anyway. I also try to buy from the other marine stores in Patchogue, Bellport, and the surrounding area. If we don't support the local merchants, they'll be gone and there where will we be? Hope your winter's a mild one; looking forward to next spring when I can go boating again. Stay safe, my friends. Hy

I am in the market to redo all my electronics on the little boat. Been looking around, I would pull the trigger already but I cant make up my mind lol

BC take a serious look at the newer Garmin products with NMEA2000 and built in WiFi. The stuff plays well with I-Phones, Droids and laptop/ tablets. Most of the built in WiFi units end with a "1" examples the 740 vs 741, 540 and the WiFi version 541.
I am a huge Garmin fan they are feature loaded and very easy to use. Updates are great just log onto their site download to an SD card and you are up to date. Since I haven't had much time to play with their new built in WiFi stuff new firmware or updates might be even easier than using the SD card slot for upgrades.
