West of Amityville

Hi gang,

I usually head east for a week's vacation. However this year I am thinking of exploring west.

Looking for fuel docks, restaurants or other attractions west of Amityville.

If anyone knows of a website or app that might have that info please let me know.

Not sure how far west your considering, but Liberty Landing is nice,
Not sure but there used to to be constant ferry service between liberty landing, jersey city and battery park if you wanted to head out for dinner or something,

Another vote for Liberty Landing. Pretty protected so no rocking all night and a pretty short Uber up to Hoboken for dinner. My kids just gave me a gift certificate for an Saturday night there and for dinner up in Hoboken for Fathers Day.
There is also supposed to be a new Marina on the East River in Brooklyn, but I've never been there and would probably check it out by car first.
Heading North up the Hudson is a lot of fun too. We've stayed at the town dock in Kingston which is right in the head of a main drag with several restaurants. There's another Marina across Roundout Creek that has transient slips and a fuel dock.
There are several places between Manhattan and Kingston to spend a night if you want to break up the trip. It's also fun to go up one side of Manhattan and then come down on the other when making a trip upstate. Slack tide on the East and Harlem Rivers can be a pretty nice ride.
I'm hoping to possibly do a couple of nights on the LI Sound this season. Just need to look in to worthwhile places to stay. I came through NYC from Westbrook Ct. when I brought my boat home in April and running on the Sound was pretty nice. Especially not having to constantly worry about running aground because of shoaling or an off station buoy. Going around from the South Shore to the Sound through NY Harbor and the East River is a pretty easy trip with some nice sightseeing.
