West Systems fillers compatible with vinyl ester?

I'm having trouble finding info on this. I want to replace the existing wood backing plates for flanged seacocks with fiberglass. I'd like to stick with VE resin because I already have a ton of it. I also have a good amount of 404 high density leftover from a previous project. I'm thinking I can mix it up and pour into a mold, pop it out and glass it to the hull with a layer of cloth.

Good idea, or not?

Steve: Chemical compatibility is difficult non experts to predict. IMO only the maker can say for certain.

I ended up just using some 2oz/ft mat I had laying around. I was able to build up 3/4" thick which should work well. I'm going with the non thru bolt approach:
