What are some of the best insurance companies???

I'm new to this here site and I noticed one of the topics you could talk about is boat insurance. Nobody seems to care that much about it, which I thought was a bit surprising considering how important it is. I mean, my own boat got destroyed a couple years ago when a big storm hit and if it weren't for insurance, I'd be using a dingy. I'm just saying, I think it'd be a good idea to post the best places one could get insurance, cause it's so important.

My insurance company is united marine underwriters.

When my boat got smashed, they helped me get a new one pretty quick. No fuss, no muss. Anybody out there know what I'm talking about?

That said, I am posting this link all over the internet and using the exact same post. Coincidentally, I also live in KY, the same place where the ins. co. is located. Chances are pretty good that I work for the insurance company and that I'm pretending that I don't so I can advertise for them. If that is true, How ethical do you think I am? How ethical do you think the insurance company is if they approve of this sort of behavior?? Would you want your boat insured with such a company??
 
I"m not so sure that posting that link here conforms to the regs. of this Forum but it"s not for me to say. But don"t be surprised if it disappears.

--and he has posted the same on several other sites. I'm not sure I'd want to use an agency (probably NOT an underwriter) that uses this sales strategy.
 
I googled him, he's posting this crap all over. And has the same link in most of his signatures.

Bounce him, ban him and take away his keyboard!

While the post is suspect I can attest to United Marine Underwriters. I had them when we had a major loss our first day with the Silverton (some of you may recall that story). They took very good care of us and I would recommend them.
 
Geeez, M. I was just getting warmed up. Oh well, I'm going to throw the sticks in the car and ruin a country walk.
 
great edit, but in all seriousness, if I had a policy with that company, I'd be concerned about their ethics and would hesitate to renew.
 
i'd be concerned too since the guy cant' even pick the right forum ! what does insurance have to do with detailing and fabrication !!
 
yup - definitely not a bright bulb.
 
I especially like his use of "new to this here site" and few other folksy gramatical errors. Yet in the lasst paragraph, he grammar gets much better. Nice try...
 
Man I wish he would come back!!! I was going to ask what boat wax he used on his boat that got smashed. Oh well.
 
Hey Guys!
New to this forum as I just joined today after I purchased a 1998 26 Chris Craft. Reading everything I can re boats. Not totally new to boating as I've owned a 28 ft and a 21 ft boat in the past. In reference to UMU Insurance I have talked to them, they are a good broker with the bulk if not all being given to Ace America Insurance Co., another name I think is Inomar????????? Good Company. I just last Monday got insurance with ACE through another broker in Chicago, they beat Boat US by $150.00 with "twice" the Coverage. I know Ace America because of my 35 years working for Int'l Steamship Lines (freight). Don't Know if this is a no-no on here but just recently (3 days ago) was in discussions re this subject. passing this as info!
 
United Marine turned me down. Although I've been a boater all of my life, I've only personally owned a boat for less than a year.
