Watching Oakland beacj fireworks fomr our dock and sleeping on the boat

I'm dragging the dingy up to GeorgiaVille pond (my in laws house) for a July fourth BBQ on friday, clam cakes, chowda, littlenecks, and steamers

Friday night or Saturday morning, head to Potters cove until Sunday evening.
Hopefully the weather holds up.

Fireworks watch on Saco Bay, off Old Orchard Beach with views from Kennebunkport to OOB to Portland plus various drunken displays in between then BBQ's onboard over the weekend, winding up on the hook off Peaks Island in Casco Bay for the weekly Reggae Sunday.

Fireworks in Middletown on the CT River. That is if it doesn't rain like heck.

Rafting up with friends Thursday night in Bristol Harbor to watch the fireworks. Parade on Friday. Then over to Potters Cove Friday afternoon until Saturday or Sunday. I hope the weather holds out. I checked 4 different sources this AM and they all had a slightly different take as to the chance of getting rain on Friday and Saturday.

Scott, I'll look for you in Potters Cove....

Are any of the moorings in Potters cove private? I have grabbed a mooring in there before and never had a problem. Just curious if there are any that I should stay away from.

Ron,

They are actually all private. Generally during the week you are fine but on weekends, you will probably get kicked off. I think there used to be state moorings by the pier but I think they are no longer there. I have 2-3 moorings availible to use from various friends and the USCGA.

If you want to stay overnight and it's on a weekend and you don't have a mooring to use, anchor until it starts to clear out in the evening then grab a mooring for the night. Nights are usually fairly empty
