On my 2001 Carver 570 Voyager does anyone know the make or brand of the plank flooring used in the Galley area? Last Summer (dock lost power) ice melted & leaked onto floor & a few boards curled that now need to be replaced.

I would be concerned about changing out some of the flooring and the new not matching the old. If I was a betting man, my guess is RamSport will have an answer...

That's why I'm asking what brand in order to match it? Worse case, I can just pull out the wood & put in Granite. It's not a large area but I'm afraid the Granite may crack with a little movement.

If it's a small area, why not just re-do the whole thing? I used laminate flooring in my cabin and it looks great and has held up well.

Art...I do not know off the top of my head, but I will find out for you tomorrow.

Thanks all, It is some brand of Laminate but there are so many you'd go nuts trying to match from color charts. I'd need to know the brand?

Art, if you're going to replace it all, I would pick out a name brand laminate in a "color" you like. My winter project was new flooring for my Santego, ripped out the old (1989) carpet, found a good quality laminate I liked and installed it myself over a few weekends.

If you don't want to go thru this again, replace it with Amtico flooring and they won't buckle when they get wet again. Most of the other home versions of laminate flooring will have this problem. Amtico is used on all high end boats and yachts for a reason.

Do you really think you'll never loose power again?

You will spend a few extra dollars now but will never have to replace it.

Your insurance may cover the damage. If it does, take it in and let the insurance co pay for a new floor if they can't match it.

Good luck

Good luck

This is not worthy of an insurance claim. I had a broken strut & prop & I never even claimed that as I hit something submerged? I'll wait until I really need to make a claim of size?

RobynsNest, if you specify AC5 as a laminate floor rating any brand will do. I'll bet none of the boat makers use more then a rating of ac3. AC5 is specified for use in Public Buildings with high traffic & is almost indestructible.

Art, this is what I put in my galley area last summer. It's by Mannington & pattern is Aurora. It comes in different shades and pattern. They are vinyl planks
