What engine did the boat come with originally?

I have the 1984 Sea Ray 34' Sedan. It has 270hp twin Crusaders.
I was told be an older guy that has been building boats for some time
that my boat came with twin Mercruiser. I have an email into Sea Ray
To see if that is true but I thought I would also check here.

Anyone have an Idea is this is possible?

I've seen Sea Rays from the factory with Crusader and Chrysler as well as Mercruiser...of course that was WAY before the Brunswick thing
 
Friends of mine have the same boat. It has original Crusaders.
 
Kenny is correct. You had a choice prior to '88 or so when Connie Ray was producing Searay. Not so anymore. Owned by Brunswick now so you're getting black engines.
 
I am happy to say the boat came with the 270 hp
Crusaders. I sent Sea Ray the #'s off the engines and they confirmed that they are ORIGINAL engines.
Now I need to start putting some money away so when these great engines go all I need to do is pick out a set of Crusaders
