Just got throgh reading "Does it ever End" (posted July 5, 2006). Anyway, sounds like we may be having a similar problem. I had to replace my starter in My 1980 MercCruiser 260. Since then I can't get it up and running. Hopefully some of you have read my previous posts. Anyway, I checked all my wiring against wiring diagrams and I'm pretty sure everything is as it should be with the wiring, but my ground wire on my batterr smokes everytime I start up my boat.
Back to the other post . . . they were also talking about something called hydrolock. I had a leak in my intake manifold and my oil was all milky. I have since changed it, but I was wondering since I had this problem what could it have done to my boat and canI fix it?
