Last night I became the semi proud owner of a boat with a bad outdrive. The boat is a 1985 Galaxy tri-hill with a Chevy 350 and an OMC outdrive. I've been looking around the web for information and I see that my model year might be a 600 or 800. The used ones on ebay say 600 or 800 on them while mine just says OMC Sterdrive 5.7Liter.
The driveshaft between the cases sheared off deep inside the lower unit. Any leads on used units or how to repair mine is appreciated. I pulled the prop off tonight and used a long extension to remove 4 bolts down inside the lower case, pulled on the prop shaft but the sucker won't budge. : ) What else do I need to remove to get this out and have a look at the gears?
