What to do below the waterline?

Ok, here's a stupid question - WHat do I do with the hull of the boat before launching? It doesn't have or need bottom paint. I power washed it after I hauled it out last year but it is still a little discolored with a few more stubborn marks. I'm planning on cleaning/waxing above the waterline this weekend but should I buff the bottom as well with a good cleaner/wax or just scrub it with a stiff brush and some cleaner?

If you don't have a painted bottom, I'd treat the gel coat below the waterline just as you treat the gel coat above the waterline. A couple of good coats of wax may make it easier to clean at haulout and may improve performance too.
 
if its in "fine" shape like you say, going over it with a cleaner wax is fine.

you dont really have to buff it out... really, you dont have to wax it either.
if its discolored like you say, muratic acid should remove the discolor for you
 
Are cleaner waxes OK to use? No one seems to mention them that much. Which cleaner wax would you suggest?
I was considering using Finesse and then regular wax, but a cleaner wax may be an option.

As for the light brown discoloration on the bottom on the hull from lake water, I use a hull cleaner (muratic acid) with good results. Should I rewax this area everytime I use the hull cleaner?

it wont hurt anything, but the reason you dont see them mentioned is because they dont really do much. its better to use a polish then wax

if you want the area waxed, yes. the muratic takes the acid off

When using the muratic acid, do you need to mix it with water before spraying it on, or can you just apply and remove?
