I have a lot of the typical white canvas wrapping the boat, and after winter there is a fair amount of black mold on it that is really stubborn to clean. If it were some hard surface I'd use bleach, but I'm sure that would destroy my otherwise good canvas. Any product out there that cleans this back to a nice white? Be especially good it is something that doesn't need a lot of scrubbing because i don't have any way to get to the top of the flybridge sunscreen other than a hose and spray bottle. Thanks!

My detailer used a paste made of Bon Ami and water. She brushed it on and scrubbed. Let it sit for a while, then flushed it all off with water. The canvas looked brand new and the mold/mildew has not returned!

Maybe for the hard to reach area, you could make a sprayable solution instead of a paste and go from there. If your canvas is Sunbrella, check their website for lots of good info. Good luck.

BTW, if you don't get it all off, it will keep coming back. And for the future, keep some fresh air circulating around the canvas during the winter to prevent mold from occurring.

PS---hope my spelling is okay! LOL

Mold*Off has worked well for me. It really helped with some stubborn mildew stains on curtains. Didn't bleed or discolor the fabric either. Google "Mold Off" and you'll find it.

My pro canvas fabricator told me to forget the commercial stuff. He said: mix vinager and water 50-50 and wipe it on the sunbrella with a towel or rag. I have. Works great. No rinsing / let air dry.
