It is interesting getting involved with the social scene that comes with owning a cruiser and keeping it in a west slip at the local dock. We have met a lot of people and gotten to talk to them and enjoyed it. I have to say though...where the heck are all the people my age??!!! I am 32 and have two little ones under the age of 4. Every person i have met with similar size/style boats has been at least 10-20 years my senior! I don't mind it as they are fun to hang out with but i think the screeching of my little ones may get on some of their nerves. We did meet one couple that has children same age as ours (though the parents are still 10 years older than us)- so hopefully we will get to hang out with them some this summer.
Anyway, it feels funny when you look around at all the "peers" that have the same boat as you and they seem closer to your parent's age than your own!
We need to start a "young families should buy cruisers" campaign!!!
