I have a free place to stay whenever I want in North Miami Beach/Aventura Area. I was thinking of towing my boat down in late November, leaving it there, and then flying down once a month in Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar/April for long weekends, and then either selling, or much more likely towing back up in the spring.

Boat is a 23 foot bowrider on a trailer, I'm sure finding land space to store it on the trailer would be much cheaper, but on most of the return trips, we'll be flying, so a tow vehicle might be tough to come buy. Is rack storage even available in that area, and if so, any idea how pricey? I remember in the old days when I first started visiting - early 70's - there were marina's everywhere, but I assume that's no longer true? The only name I could remember was Maule Lake Marina, but that seems to come up empty when web searching.

I've never measured highway mpg in my Tahoe when towing. Without the trailer, I probably get 15 mpg or so. Is 10 a safe guess when towing? Rig is about 3500 pounds total.

thanks -
Andy

Maule Lake Marina is no longer open. They started to build condos. But looks like project feel trew for now. You can try spiniker marina on 135 street and us1. Only five minutes sout of maule lake.Or if you know the area there are some rack and stacks off griffin road and I-95.Keep my boat at Banyan Bay Marina in a wet slip for 10 dollars a foot Think rack is a couple dollars cheaper.

thanks. I'm hoping for a rack, as I'll typically use the boat for a few days, then be gone for two or three weeks.

I just got an email back frokm Banyan Bay, with prices, and availability. How's the access there? Seems like a 3.5 mile drive up a canal would take some time; is it no wake the entire trip?

It will take you 45 minutes to an hour to get to Port Everglades and yes it is all no wake zone. November is Manatee season so anywhere you go inland or other than the ocean will be no wake zones.

thanks - I always forget about the manatees. Can anybody give me a quick description as to what the regulations are, in the waterways between Dania & Miami, from Nov through April.
