where to go on Lake Lanier

Yep, I'd hate to loose the anchor that somehow found its way around the orange fan's legs. I'm not BB fan either, but what the heck beating Alabama whenever they should beat us (however infrequent that might be) is always fun. <G>

The NBR is the "Not Boating Related" forum, but you must be a anchored RO to get in. While football is mostly a topic reserved for the fall we do have a good mix of fans. There are two other RO's here in 'hotlanta that I get together with for lunch every so often. One's a GA Dawg and the other is a LSU (or LS-WHO depending on who is talking). We even have a Old Miss Fan that we all beat up on....

It's good to know you're well enough to stir the pot again, Bill. [^]
Go Rebels!

Hey what was that Georgia-Auburn BB score Thursday night?

Beating AU in BB......now that's a Dawg's dream come true. <G>

[:-weepn] Now why did I know that was coming?[:-ouch]

Hey BillD - when did youget out of HHS? I grew up a bit later and went to GHS, but my older brother graduated from HHS in '69 I think.

Bill - I have tried to send you a PM and an email but it will not let me. Tell me an email address, if you dont mind putting it 'out there'.

Steve,
it should work. I just sent you a email as a test. We'll see if you get it...let me know.

Steve, it appears to have failed, but I sent you one from my normal email not using the BoaterEd function.
My email recently changed so I might have a problem. However, it's working from other sources....

I think you might have sent it before I realized I had an email from the moderator confimring the change. Try again.

Coolbreeze/Rick-
I should have checked this before heading out for the weekend. I actually saw you all beached there next to 8TM but didn't read this prior to leaving so didn't know it was you. We actually anchored last night a stone's throw from there on the other side of the island where the 7TM marker is at! You should have shouted at us on the radio if you saw us....I probably cruised by at least twice yesterday! lol

Anyway...great weekend...just got in and may post some pics in a bit. LOVE the new boat!

Woodsong,

This Saturday we are having an on the water dock party. A few of us from Holiday Dock 2 as well as a couple of others will be rafting up just west of 6TM and the more the merrier. Would be happy to have you come by.

Allatoona (sic?) was great when we were there with a smaller runabout, but with a blue water boat like yours, you will love Holiday and Lanier. There are a bunch of changes coming to Lanier in the next 12-18 months and I can't wait. Better restaurants, renovated hotel/s...

Woodsong, You mentioned windy. How did the boat handle in the wind or did you stay tied to the dock?

How did this thread get dug up again?? :)

These threads are good ways for me to not forget when I bought my boats though! lol

Giolic, I bought the boat about 75 days ago now I guess. I've taken her out in very windy conditions (15-20 knots). Without fail, I have found her to handle absolutely great. I guess it is the increased weight of the boat and perhaps the suprisingly wide beam for her size (14'4" beam) but she does not get tossed around by the wind at all and so far, knock on wood, I have not felt the need or desire for a bow thruster whatsoever. Even backing her into the 16' wide slip has been very easy and can be done single handed without problem thus far. Thus, so far, I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about the handling of my silverton. Granted, she is my first sedan bridge so I don't have a lot of similar boats to compare her to but she goes just where i want her every time.
