Hello everyone, I was out at Bethel Island on the weekend and drove down Dutch Slough Rd. only to find that the Suisun is no longer moored there. Can anyone fill me in on what happeded to the old girl? Thanks. Mike

Hi Flutterby, thanks for the reply. Nope, that's not the boat. The Suisun that I'm refering to is the boat on the cover of Hal Schell's book Delta Images no. 1. The book has a nice article on the boat and even pictures of it's construction. Here's a link to a photo of the cover of the book with the Suisun under way: http://www.bookmine.com/images/158376.jpg

Ohh an old woody! Bill Wells, Past Commodore of the Classic Boat Club may have an idea! Write an email to commodorewells 'at' msn 'dot' com

Yeah, we spent time aboard the Suisun/Virginia S with her owner while she was tied up at Lost Isle.

We noticed that the boat was gone last winter. We always enjoyed looking at the old dog that would be sleeping up on deck 24/7.

I would imagine that the CoCo County Sheriff had something to do with its move. The head rule and all...

Lots of other derelict boats have been removed from that slu and the attached marinas.

But sadly, putting lipstick on a pig still results in a pig...
