Recently purchased '88 Tiara with Crusader 454s with 1000hrs. Engines run strong, compression test all at 149-155 and run steady at 160 degrees. Would like to replace the manifolds and risers/elbows so have fresh starting point. Manifolds are stamp dated '87 so assuming are original w/ just minor rust on underside above plugs. Risers/elbows are dated '96-97 with minor rusting around joints. See pics below.
Which brand would you recommend? Crusader original or Osco, Barr, etc?
Also considering doing myself, only concern is I've heard manifold bolts can be hell if never removed before and sometimes can shear off. Any suggestions?
