Hi folks! Looking to finally take the 42 foot cruiser out for a repower and some other engine room work...would like to replace the shoe-box sized holding tank while I am at it.

1) Can I move the holding tank back into the engine room - move it rearward about 4 feet?

2) What issues would it cause?

3) The head is a manual pump raw water unit and it has a small electric motor which pumps it for you. I'd like to keep what I have but add a macerator....where does the macerator go in this puzzle?

Thanks!

should be no issue with moving the HT a few feet, but crowd your engine room, make sure it will not be where you need to sit to get to something...

an electric head shoudl macerate the waste... a macerator is only needed to pump overboard once you are 3 miles out. it's installed after the holding tank. If you add one, dont' get the cheaper impeller POS, get the Sealand Below... a few more $ but it will last 5 times longer.

so... you're going to repower after all??

If it's that tight, have you considered the Electro Scan?
