I went to our yachtclub Saturday night and I was surprised to find six boats in the water. One couple was spending the night to celebrate.
With the heat on............?

I will be a couple more weeks, water is too cold for me. Can't see spending money for heated storage and then throwing the boat into 38 degree water. Oh yea, it is going to snow here Thursday and Friday, 72 today!

Still can't wait!

Any fish around the west end of Lake Erie?

Not me! 70 here today, expecting snow by Tuesday night and rest of the week! Will be several more weeks, I'm afraid! :(

ive been in since the 13th. yesterday was awesome out... just a lil windy

Getting the boat out of storage tomorrow and taking it to the yard for bottom paint and other things...probably won't put it in until May.

I never came out,,,, does that count?

Cover came off last week, engines are fired up and all is well.
I will haul in June for a few days and do bottom paint, hull polish and install my new props.

The marina my boat is stored at has already launched about 30 boats. Mine isn't on of them though (and this week in IL makes me thankful for that). I go in May 10th.

I'm behind a sailboat and they gotta move me to launch him April 12. Too early for me--heck our greens are not even plugged.

Shooting for first week in May. Going to take out the Raytheon radar and chartplotter and installing Furuno.

April 16th here, I would be in already if there wasn't some boats ahead of me.

We went in on 3/30/07 ---- spent the weekend on it with snow on sunday.... 8 inches of snow on easter and are expecting another 3-5 tonight!! ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!! I want SUMMER!!!
Steve

18 inches - it is melting now - It snowed 117 straight hours in Cleveland. Crazy.

I was waxing today and a few boats went in at the marina where my boat is stored. I wish I was in just to be done with the anticipation already!

Lake Erie still has at least 2-3 miles of ice on the Eastern end here in Buffalo. The ice boom comes out this week, so look out Lake Ontario, it's all coming your way!

What is the purpose of the ice boom and where is it located? I am assuming it is to stop large ice dams and the clogging of the water intakes for power generation before the falls?

I was at the falls a few weeks ago and I was wondering about the river and ice and where does it all go. Really cool to see in the winter time, especially when the mist turns to snow.

Exactly right, that is what it does. It is strung across the end of th lake about 1/2 mile off the mouth of the river. I think it is about 3 miles long and it takes about a week to set/remove it. My office overlooks Lake Erie, and today there is ice as far as the eye can see. We can't even think about launching our boats on the river until all the ice clears out.

My new boat is being delivered on May 2nd to Waukeegan (IL) Harbor then were takein it down to chicago. I can't stand this waiting.
