Does anyone know who made the Mercarb for Mercury Marine?

A customer service representative from Mercury thought it was Nikki, but I have e-mailed them twice with no reply, plus I cannot find any reference anywhere to connect them.

Any idea's anyone?

Not sure who actually manufactured it, but it is a Japanese carburetor.

All of the parts sold for it are made in Japan...not a decisive reason, but I think fairly accurate

Not necessarily. Merc maybe only had a cheaper manufacturer make their carb design.

I have some Mercruiser 140 stuff in my barn. Fuel pump, manifold and two carb's.

Thudpucker

Do you think a 140 carb would be similar to a V6 Carb?

You can,in theory, put any carb on any engine. How efficient that combination would be is the question. One thing you can do, the Q-jet (or any vacuum secondary)is a carb that can run on any engine. The primaries are small so very efficient for smaller engines and may not even need the secondaries. You would just need the intake manifold that fits the particular carb you intend to use.
