Rob, one of our members here (whom I wont name) tried it and it was a poor experience. the people who rented it touched bottom, definitely wasn't good for his heart.
 
Well thats my point .. Its honestly the stupidest thing i ever saw . I'm shocked Boat us would ever back such moronic thing. The liability is an issue ... The damage to the vessel by the renter.... ITs just fing stupid ...

I do enough damage to my boat and I have been boating for 18 years....what do you think a newbie is going to do?
 
To people I know that are very experienced boat handlers - wouldn't have a problem. To friends that are very experienced boat handlers, I wouldn't even rent it, just tell them to have at it.

To a complete stranger, or even someone I know that isn't a professional or very experienced boat operator? Not a snowballs chance in hell.
 
If it means the difference between being able to afford boating or not, why not.

For half the boats in the marina that never go out or are even visited, you could rent it out and they'd never know.

There is an RO here that did this, it was not the gig you posted, but a gig from something similar. This RO is in our neck of the woods, was in the AYC.

Long term lease would be better then a short term rental,plus 6 months security! just saying :)
