I'm new to boatered and want to say thanks in advance for any help on this. I replaced my rotted out alpha one transom assembly and inner
transom plate. I reinstalled engine but no matter how I try to adjust the front mount the special tool wont slide in. INspection with a mirror shows the engine is sitting about 1/8th of an inch too low. mcm165 165 hp 4 cylinder. 1987 engine. Now for my questions. Is there a proceedure for aligning the flywheel cover to the block of motor. I see holes in the housing and block and suspect there should be an alignment dowel or something there. Is there any way to move the inner transom plate down. I see there is slots in the inner transom plate. What about shimming the engine up with a spacer between the flywheel housing and the inner transom plate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again
